Professional Background
I graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada and began my nursing career in the Operating Room (OR). I later transitioned into Endoscopy a field I have come to value for its dynamic, fast-paced, and continually evolving nature.
In 2020, I relocated to the United Kingdom and started as a Band 4 Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN). Through dedication and professional growth, I progressed to a Band 5 Staff Nurse and currently serve as a Band 6 Senior Clinical Lead in Endoscopy at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
Leadership in Endoscopy Nursing
As a highly motivated and forward-thinking professional, I am deeply committed to the education and development of the endoscopy workforce. I lead endoscopy induction programmes aligned with JETS Workforce standards, ensuring staff are equipped with the skills and competencies required for high-quality patient care.
I am particularly passionate about integrating digital innovation into education. By developing and implementing online learning systems, I aim to make training more accessible, flexible, and impactful for nursing staff, supporting the digital transformation of endoscopy services.
Advocacy for Endoscopy Nurses in Wales
A key focus of my work is advocating for endoscopy nurses across Wales. I am committed to strengthening the workforce by promoting continuous professional development, supporting career progression, and ensuring equitable access to training opportunities.
I actively champion the role of endoscopy nurses within the wider healthcare system, highlighting their contribution to patient safety, service efficiency, and innovation. Through leadership, mentorship, and education, I strive to empower nurses to reach their full potential and adapt to the evolving demands of endoscopy practice.
Support for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs)
As an internationally educated nurse myself, I am a strong advocate for IENs, particularly those from the Philippines. I work to promote inclusivity, equity, and professional development, helping IENs navigate career progression within the UK healthcare system.
I played a key role in organising the Philippine Nurses Association UK launch in Wales, reinforcing my commitment to building supportive networks and advancing opportunities for internationally educated nurses.
Vision and Future Goals
I remain committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in endoscopy nursing. My goal is to further advance education, embrace digital transformation, and advocate for a strong, resilient workforce ultimately improving patient outcomes in the ever-evolving field of endoscopy.
