Jaber Gasem: Consultant Gastroenterologist in North
Wales
Dr Jaber Gasem is a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist and Interventional endoscopist
expertly providing diagnosis and treatment for multiple gastrointestinal tract conditions such
as IBD, IBS, cancers, diarrhoea/constipation, liver disease, gallstones, Barrett's oesophagus and peptic ulcer disease. He is based in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, North Wales.

Training and experience
Dr Jaber Gasem is a highly experienced Consultant Physician and
Gastroenterologist. He attended Tripoli University in Libya from 1983 to 1990,
graduating in medicine (MBChB) in 1990.
Dr Gasem completed the UK General Medical Council Professional and Linguistics Assessment Board (PLAB) test in December 1992 and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in November 1995.
He was awarded the Certificate
of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology in November 2006. His NHS practice is based at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.
Clinical interests
Dr Gasem is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and screening colonoscopist with a special interest in Therapeutic endoscopy and Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), an endoscopic procedure to diagnose and treat problems
with the biliary system, including gallstones.
Dr Gasem is currently the Clinical Director for medicine for Besti Cadwalader University Health board and the BSW lead for North Wales.
