The Welsh Association of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy (WAGE) is seeking to appoint a member of the association to lead the development of a WAGE research network. The Research Lead will go on to chair the network and support the executive committee to deliver the strategic and operational plans relating to research, and audit.
WAGE was established in 2007 as the professional leadership group for Gastroenterology in Wales. The aim is to improve care of patients with gastrointestinal disorders by providing leadership, professional advice, collaboration, improved standards and by facilitating patient interface.
Improvement in health outcomes is dependent on quality research. WAGE is committed to developing, leading, and supporting participation in research and audit which will lead to improvements for Welsh patients and staff.
The Research Lead will become a member of the Executive Committee of WAGE and ensure effective two- way communications between members of the research network, academic and industry partners, and WAGE.
We are seeking to appoint a Research Lead from October this year to support the President and Executive Committee establish the Research Network and provide ongoing leadership for a period of 4 years.
