JAG accreditation in Wales
We are pleased to announce that Bronglais General Hospital, Aberytswyth has become the first JAG accredited unit in Wales after an inspection visit on January 24th. This is a huge step forward for the endoscopy service in Wales and reflects a tremendous amount of work put in by Dr Mark Narain and colleagues in the unit – well done!
Brecon War Memorial Hospital and Llandough University Hospital have also been given deferred accreditations pending some work after they were inspected in November and December respectively. Glangwilli General Hospital, Camarthen is being visited in April/May 2012.
There are several other sites who should be able to go for their accreditation later in 2012 and Wales will be on track to be the devolved nation with the most JAG approved sites (Scotland currently have none). We would encourage sites that are looking at going forward with JAG accreditation this year to be in touch with the GRS team to ensure they receive as much support as is possible.
